Grand Massif ski pass 2026-2027: prices and opening dates
In late August the larches above Les Carroz have barely started to turn — and yet this is already the right moment to lock in your winter. The Grand Massif opening dates and 2026-2027 ski pass prices are out, and the best season-pass window of the year closes on 30 September. Here is what you need to know before booking.
Opening dates, resort by resort
The Grand Massif links five resorts — Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt — across 265 km of pistes between 720 and 2,500 m. Each opens at its own pace:
- Flaine: 5 December 2026 to 18 April 2027 (the longest season, and the highest).
- Les Carroz and Samoëns: 12 December 2026 to 11 April 2027.
- Morillon: 19 December 2026 to 4 April 2027.
- Sixt: 19 December 2026 to 7 March 2027.
In practice, if you are after a first snowy weekend in early December, Flaine opens the season — a 25-minute drive from Les Carroz, or ski-in once the link is running.
How much is a lift pass in 2026-2027?
Three options cover most stays:
- Grand Massif pass (all five resorts): €63.00 a day for adults (15-74), €50.40 reduced (8-14). The daily rate is the same for 2 to 7 days, consecutive or not, valid throughout winter 2026-2027. A 4-hour option is available at €56.70.
- Villages pass (Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns, Sixt, without Flaine): €58.50 a day for adults, €46.80 reduced. A sensible compromise if you stay on the tree-lined side.
- Les Carroz beginner pass: €28 a day for adults, €21 reduced. It covers two return trips on the Kédeuze gondola, the Crêtes and Plein Soleil chairlifts and drag lifts, plus free use of the Figaro and Molliets drag lifts — ideal for a first family week.
Worth knowing: skiing is free for under-8s and for anyone aged 75 and over, on proof of age at sales outlets. Add €2 for the rechargeable hands-free card, which is non-refundable.
Season pass: the PREM'S window closes on 30 September
This is the real early-autumn bargain. The Grand Massif season pass gives unlimited access to all five resorts all winter, and the price depends on when you buy:
- PREM'S rate, until 30 September 2026: €658 (26-74), €439 (8-25), €59 (under 8 and 75+).
- PROMO rate, until 15 November 2026: €732 and €488.
- Full price afterwards: €1,316 and €878.
In other words, exactly half price if you buy before the end of September. There is also a winter + summer version at €748 in PREM'S, which includes the summer lifts — worth considering if you plan to come back for the Bike Park.
Why book your accommodation now
Christmas and February weeks go early in Les Carroz, and apartments with a proper terrace stay rare. Lodge Le Chamois is an 83 m² apartment for 6, with three bedrooms, at 265 route de Flaine, a 3-minute walk from the Les Carroz cable car. You park in a private covered space fitted with a Green'Up charging socket, and skis spend the night in a heated locker on the ground floor — dry boots the next morning.
In the evening the 45 m² south-facing terrace comes into its own: wooden Nordic bath (optional), fire pit and a view over snow-laden pines. Getting here takes 15 minutes from junction 19 of the A40, 50 minutes from Geneva, or the Léman Express to Cluses followed by the "Les Carroz Flaine Express" shuttle.
